Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity promotes interaction among those who share a commitment to music. What begins for our sisters in college becomes a life-long commitment to promoting music in the community -- and where better to do that than in the live music capital of the world!
Sigma Alpha Iota has long been recognized as a leader in the field of music and provides a lifetime of fraternity contact. Our fraternity was founded on June 12, 1903 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The SAI Alumnae Association allows alumnae members to remain active and supportive of the ideals of SAI.
Members of Sigma Alpha Iota, in collegiate and alumnae chapters, devote their talents and energies to many national and international projects including those of Sigma Alpha Iota Philanthropies, Inc.

Austin Alumnae
Chapter History
Our chapter was installed on March 17th, 1956, however, this installation was two years in the making. In 1954, two ladies became neighbors in Austin. They would sit on their porch while their children played in the yard and share stories about their families, childhoods, and school years. During these conversations, Mary Morgan and Jane Hough came to the realization that they had both been members of Sigma Alpha Iota when they were in college. They decided they would like to start a chapter in Austin. Jane called the national office to get a list of all members that were living in the area. Over the next two years, Mary and Jane would get together 18 women to help found the Austin Alumnae Chapter.

The Carol Boyer Moody Memorial Scholarships shall be
awarded to initiated members of SAI at The University of Texas at Austin (Beta Xi Chapter) and Texas State University (Theta Omega Chapter) in recognition of outstanding musical performance and for the furtherance of their careers.
(The Austin Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota is a 501(c)(7) non-profit membership organization and donations made to our chapter are not tax deductible.)
